2022年1月16日 · I went with the M1102 for a few reasons. #1. Its Big! Maybe too big, but I wanted plenty of space. #2 Aluminum. I like the idea of the trailer being all aluminum. Rust isn’t an issue in Vegas, but the whole point of overland camping for us is to get out of Vegas. Knowing the chassis/body will never rust is a pro in my book. #3 Lug pattern.

2015年1月21日 · Both the M1101 and the M1102 trailer models can be towed by a HMMWV M1097/M1114 series in accordance with the identification plate. Due to the numerous model differences, for military use operators must refer to TM 9-2330-392-14&P to determine towing authorization for the M1101 and M1102 for the specific set of circumstances.

2022年11月24日 · With the hitch dilemma resolved, I set to finding all the right pieces, which included figuring out the standard tongue height of the M1102, the hitch height on the truck, and doing the math to build a drop lunette ring, and raised pintle system for a flat connection. That means there are plenty of trailers to be had, because they are only listing 10-20 trailers per week.

Since I now have access to a CNC plasma cutter I decided it was time to bite the bullet and build an overlanding trailer. I landed on the M1101/M1102 as the most viable platform for my needs.

I'm in the planning stages for it, but I'll build a shelf in the battery and storage side of the trailer up high so its out of the way, I'll also add a small hose to route a TINY portion of the heat being ducted inside the sleeping area into the storage area to help keep the battery temps up.

2020年10月16日 · Thank you @DzrtShamrock, I'm digging the fuel mounts so far too; Especially since I can squeeze a 3 gallon diesel in the original M1102 jerry can mount for the heater. Still need to cut a V3 of the propane mounts, almost there just a few minor fittment issues to iron out.

2022年10月13日 · Caulking and edging done mostly. Then moved to mocking up the lower sections for the bed support. You can pull out the 2x4 rectangles in three sections, and this will allow me to bedline and get access to insulate, etc. then put it all back in for the final time.
