December 17 was the natal of burlesque dancer, pin-up model, and actress Lilly Christine (Martha Theresa Pompender, 1923-1965), a.k.a. “The Cat Girl” . Originally from Dunkirk, New York (right next door to Fredonia), Pompender may have taken her professional name from a 1932 movie starring Corinne Griffith and Colin Clive.
