Lactate dehydrogenase - Wikipedia
Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH or LD) is an enzyme found in nearly all living cells. LDH catalyzes the conversion of pyruvate to lactate and back, as it converts NAD + to NADH and back. A dehydrogenase is an enzyme that transfers a hydride from one molecule to another. LDH exists in four distinct enzyme classes.
Biochemistry, Lactate Dehydrogenase - StatPearls - NCBI Bookshelf
2023年5月1日 · Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is an important enzyme of the anaerobic metabolic pathway. It belongs to the class of oxidoreductases, with an enzyme commission number EC 1.1.1.27. The function of the enzyme is to catalyze the reversible conversion of lactate to pyruvate with the reduction of NAD+ to NADH and vice versa. [1] .
Analysis of Cell Viability by the Lactate Dehydrogenase Assay
2018年6月1日 · Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is a stable cytoplasmic enzyme that is found in all cells. LDH is rapidly released into the cell culture supernatant when the plasma membrane is damaged, a key feature of cells undergoing apoptosis, …
The role of LDH assay kits in assessing cell damage and toxicity
1 天前 · LDH is an enzyme found in the cytoplasm of almost all living cells. It plays an important role in anaerobic glycolysis by converting pyruvate to lactate. Under normal physiological conditions, LDH ...
Quantification of lactate dehydrogenase for cell viability testing ...
2010年2月26日 · Quantification of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is a well-established assay for cell viability that provides fast, robust and reproducible insights into the potential toxicity of experimental compounds and potential drug candidates.
The lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) isoenzyme spectrum enables
2023年3月24日 · Our results suggest that the LDH isoenzyme spectrum enables “Goldilocks levels” of glycolytic and redox activity to control T cell differentiation. Gene duplication drives the evolution of isoenzymes that differ in polypeptide sequences, quaternary structures, and catalytic efficiencies but catalyze the same biochemical reactions (1).
LDH Cytotoxicity Assay: How to Measure Cell Damage
2025年3月17日 · One widely used method for measuring cytotoxicity is the lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) assay, which quantifies cell membrane integrity loss by detecting LDH released into the extracellular space. This approach provides a reliable indicator of cell death without requiring complex equipment or procedures.

2025年3月25日 · We examined the activity of LDH in HIBCH or ECHS1 KO cells and found that LDH activity was significantly reduced in both KO cell lines (Figure S8C). However, since the population of cells with incorporated Kmea in our genetic codon expansion assays was small, we were unable to directly test whether LDHB-K310mea has reduced activity.
