Basin PBS signed on the air over 30 years ago as KOCV-TV at Odessa College. The station was founded on New Year's Eve 1986, and was owned by Odessa College, and later by the Ector County Independent School District, briefly, before transferring to Permian Basin Public Telecommunications, Inc. in 2005.
