
You can enrol in KiwiSaver by completing this form and giving it to your employer. Your employer will determine if you are eligible and then send your information to Inland Revenue and start making KiwiSaver deductions for you.
Opt an employee into KiwiSaver - Inland Revenue
Fill in a IR346K for the employee you're opting in. You can complete these details in myIR or post it to the address on the form either: before their first pay day with the Employment information - IR348 form that includes their first pay. Keep a copy for your records.

Starting employees in KiwiSaver - Inland Revenue
If you start a new employee who's already a KiwiSaver member, ask them to fill in a KiwiSaver deduction form - KS2. Your employee uses the KS2 to tell you: they’re on a savings suspension. You’ll need to see their suspension notice before stopping their KiwiSaver deductions. Suspending KiwiSaver deductions and contributions.

For most employees, this means filling in a deduction form (KS2) and giving it to you for your records. If they don't complete the form, make deductions at the default rate of 3%. To ensure deductions start it is recommended that you provide a KS2 form to your new employer and to request confirmation the form has been received. You’ll find more information in your KiwiSaver information pack or go to www.kiwisaver.govt.nz. KiwiSaver contributions will be deducted from each payment of your salary or wages.
