2016年8月2日 · They are all sized for the C-130's tail and so are too large for the nose of the 1/144 KC-707. The black bird/globe logo is approx 3/4" x 3/4". However, Microscale 72-220 Israeli badges may have a size close to your needs in the middle …
707 vs -135-series fuselages - Jet Modeling - ARC Discussion Forums
2006年9月9日 · Since KC-135 production started before 707 production, it used that slimmer cross section. What that means from a modeling standpoint is that 707s and KC-135 variants are (usually) not interchangeable with one another. A KC-135 kit can only be built into a KC-135 variant and a 707 can only be built into a 707 variant.

2016年3月5日 · The KC-135's fuselage is narrower, and doesn't have the 'double bubble' lobe crease that all Boeing narrow body airliners have. Aside from the cockpit cab section and radome, you're going to literally scratch build the entire rest of the airplane.

Italeri 1/72 KC-135 to Boeing 707 Conversion - Jet Modeling - ARC ...
2010年11月21日 · There are several other online stores as well so I think I'd be spending my time seeking out a straight 707 kit than trying to kitbash a KC-135 into a 707. Remember also that 4 of the RAAF 707s were ex QANTAS birds and the other 3 including Hulksbury, the spare parts bird were ex Saudia birds and there were differences between the 2 sub types.

2018年10月5日 · From some angles the frames look different but I suspect that is caused by the C-17's being painted and the KC-10's in natural metal. It would certainly make sense, look at the DC-8 and DC-9, or the 707, 727 and 737. If you are planning another KC-10 sheet (!) let me know as I have quite a bit of markings info including factory drawings.

2020年11月30日 · The Airfix 1:72 E-3D/F kits (#12004) includes both the 707 style JT3D and the CFM-56 engines which might be coaxed onto the AMT/ERTL KC-135. I seem to remember an article about that in FSM or some other British modeling mag when both kits were first released.

1/72 KC-135R Engines - Jet Modeling - ARC Discussion Forums
2023年1月31日 · That is a good point about whether the engines are meant for a KC-135 or a 707/E-3 kit. The pylons are completely different between these two aircraft. I do remember that Maintrack (UK) offered a set of TF-33s (JT3D) & pylons, but can't remember if it was for the 707/E-3D/F or the KC-135. This would have been late 1980s to early 1990s.
Boeing 707 kits - Jet Modeling - ARC Discussion Forums
2014年10月9日 · Understand that the 707 and the Boeing Model 717 (the original factory designation of the military C-135/KC-135 program) evolved from the prototype "Dash 80" along parallel (but not equal) lines. The airliners (707 and 720) had a slight "double bubble" fuselage cross section to accommodate comfortable six-across seating in coach.
