Jacobus Johannes Pieter Oud (9 February 1890 – 5 April 1963) was a Dutch architect. [1] . His fame began as a follower of the De Stijl movement. Oud was born in Purmerend, the son of a tobacco and wine merchant. As a young architect, he was influenced by Berlage, and studied under Theodor Fischer in Munich for a time.

2018年6月27日 · Jacobus Johannes Pieter Oud (1890-1963) was one of the Netherlands' leading architects of the International Style of the 1920s. On Feb. 9, 1890, J.J.P. Oud was born in Purmerend in North Holland. He studied at the Quellinus School of Arts and Crafts, the National School of Graphic Arts in Amsterdam, and the Technical University in Delft.

Oud began his studies in 1903 at the Quellinus School of Decorative Arts in Amsterdam. Three years later, he designed his first building: a house for a relative in his native Purmerend. In 1907, under pressure from his father, he began to study architecture, finding work as a draftsman in the office of Joseph Cuypers and Jan Stuijt.
