The Denafrips Iris DDC (digital- to- digital converter) is designed to clean up the USB output from your streamer or computer, re-clock it and send it to your DAC. It is supposed to improve sound quality.

Denafrips offers three models in their DDC lineup, the entry-level IRIS, the mid-level Hermes, and the Gaia, their flagship.

2022年5月17日 · From laptop -> USB cable -> Iris DDC -> Coax -> Chord Qutest DAC. The I2S-A is supposedly the best output to be used on all Denafrips DDC models and is recommended by Alvin of Vinshine. However, even via Coax out, it's a substantial improvement in my system.

2023年9月16日 · The ddc doesn't add or take away from the dac, it just further improved clarity and makes the background darker, which in turn makes the sound that much more enjoyable. I will never go back to not using a ddc.

2022年4月4日 · 以上訊源兜一台DDC來強化USB輸出後.... iris提升了一點解析, 聲音更凝聚, 自然帶點甜味, su-2則是讓音樂清晰度直接拉高一個層次, 不用A/B test都能聽出來, 非常搶耳的表現, 升級有感(?) 所以, 哪一台好, 看各人喜好, 不過ipad體質虛, 個人比較建議用su-2就是, 或許su-6更佳(?)

2024年11月24日 · Now I have the Pontus II in which is a better match for my integrated tube amp and 99dB sensitive Klipsch Forte IIIs. I would highly recommend a DDC if you’re running a USB input. Hermes or IRIS depending on your budget.
