1994年1月1日 · We compared insulinemia as measured by a competitive RIA (ERIA Diagnostics Pasteur) (16% cross-reaction with proinsulin) and by an automated immmunometric assay (IMx Abbott) (no cross-reaction with proinsulin). IMx between-assay cofficients of variation were below 5%. Compared to IMx, Pasteur values were about 30% higher.

Examination of diluted sera using IMx revealed that IMx can be used as efficiently was RIA: high anti-HBc titer was found among HBsAg carriers, but not among non HBsAg carriers.
