I recently rewatched HxH and decided to catch up with the manga. The Dark Continent idea seems so interesting! it's a pitty that we won't reach it anytime soon. Of course the proportions are not precise, for clarity purposes, since the known world would look too small on a more realistic map; and we don't even know how big the real world really ...

So, a post yesterday asked how big the Hunter x Hunter world is and posted an image of this panel from when Ging tells Gon about the Dark Continent. While this image probably isn't actually to scale, I thought it would be fun to use it to make a HxH globe.

2019年10月6日 · There's the little details to flesh out the world further too, like the nature of the informants and their making infiltration difficult in East Gorteau. Edit: I don't think people really bag on HxH's worldbuilding, the series just gets compared to One Piece a lot and so on the point of worldbuilding people will usually give it to One Piece.

You don't even need to factor in nen to gauge whether the HxH world is terrible or not. The Rose Bomb has killed millions and there's still a ton of those bombs available in that world, so yeah I think it's a terrible place to live.
