Hurlford Shed (1877-1966) This shed was located in the 'V' of the junction between the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway and the Galston Branch (Glasgow and South Western Railway). It replaced the older shed at Kilmarnock, Kilmarnock Shed [3rd]. The shed was developed on farmland south of Kilmarnock where there was room to expand.

Hurlford Shed Built at Swindon in 1954, BR Standard class 3MT 2-6-0 no 77017 was allocated to Hurlford shed, where it is seen alongside the coaling stage in the early 1960s. It remained on Hurlford's allocation until its eventual withdrawal by BR in November of 1966.
