Sway and i3 difference? : r/linux4noobs - Reddit
2021年10月12日 · I3 uses X11 while Sway uses Wayland. With differences in protocol come subtle differences in what applications can be used. For example, Flameshot requires X11 so if you use that as your screenshot tool, you're going to have a hard time using it in Sway. The same thing goes for Polybar and Rofi, they both require X11 to function correctly.
New Install i3 or Sway : r/archlinux - Reddit
2019年1月15日 · Sway has been the first tiler I've really committed myself to using- in the past I used Openbox and xfce4-panel. I've gotten used to it pretty quickly and I can see why i3/sway is popular: pretty easy to configure, damn good at handling lots and lots of windows (especially with tabbing/stacking), and pretty much out of your way.
What are the keyboard shortcuts for sway? : r/swaywm - Reddit
2020年6月23日 · In sway, can we search/open system files and folders? What is the key for it? As I found, when in sway mode, I was unable to open my saved files (PDFs, docs, etc.) along with multiple windows. I was only able to open terminal and browser. Thanks
I am an i3 user, and why should I consider sway? : r/swaywm - Reddit
2022年3月28日 · One benefit: if I unplug the external monitor, and later replug it, sway remembers which workspace went on the external display and automatically sends it there. i3 doesn't. Even more impressive: if it's a different external monitor (eg, an overhead projector), sway doesn't do it. It assigns it a blank workspace.
How do you guys change settings in Sway? : r/swaywm - Reddit
2020年7月7日 · All the configuration of Sway is done in the config file, loaded in various directories (the default user-controlled would be ~/.config/sway/config). You just have to put your configuration (see the documentation about what’s possible, or feel free to pick from user configs, for example in r/unixporn) and reload Sway
How does the resource usage of sway compare to dwm, bspwm
2021年7月8日 · The process itself will be higher but the numbers are not really comparable. In X11 land a window manager basically just arranges windows and communicates with the X server or compositor for everything else. In Wayland the compositor is all three of those in one program. So the real question is how Sway compares to i3 + compton + xorg-server.
SwayWM vs Hyprland: Which is better & why? : r/linuxquestions
2023年9月15日 · Sway is very simplistic, and does not have as many features as Hyprland, but if you have a bit more low-power hardware, that may be just the right thing. Hyprland on the other hand is made for the eye candy, with nice animations, blur, but also some nice features like global hotkeys and a better xdg-desktop-portal (for screen recording or sharing)
Use Sway Markets at your own risk : r/Forex - Reddit
2023年11月9日 · So if sway approves it and it just takes longer due to overcrowded blockchain so be it. But Sway wasn't even approving it then not saying anything until I started bitching. 🤷 I like their leverage and execution and still being regulated and all but the wonky payouts just got me feeling "meh I'm gonna step out"
how do I exit Sway without a mouse? : r/swaywm - Reddit
2022年6月7日 · If you need to exit sway with a confirmation from a keyboard, a more logical solution would be bind a shortcut to run rofi/dmenu/other launcher of your choice with options "yes" and "no" and execute the same swaymsg exit. Killing sway through a virtual terminal and other methods work too, but they're kinda bassackwards.
KDE wayland + sway? : r/kde - Reddit
2019年11月13日 · You cannot use KWin since that's the KDE Plasma Wayland compositor, however you should be able to make a wayland-sessions file that starts up KDE services (although I'm not sure how many would actually work), and then starts up sway. You can use KDE/Qt applications in Sway, even if they don't support Wayland (since Sway has Xwayland …
