2024年11月10日 · Like goon mentioned they are comparable to the HBC blankets but there are subtle differences like dyes and blends of wool used to make the blanket. Witney Point blankets are better suited for indoor use IMO, the furry nap is a bit more fragile compared to the HBC. This is from the blends and grades of wool used. Always 100% Merino.

2020年9月27日 · A 4 Point Pendleton will compare to a thin 3.5 Point HBC. Wool grades are also better with the English made Point blankets. Some of the antiques feel almost like cashmere. I like them both for different reasons.

2015年6月22日 · Yes. Hbc point blankets are made of 100% wool and are pre-shrunk as part of the manufacturing process. So you can hand wash your blanket in a gentle detergent like Zero or Woollite. The trick is in the drying. You must gently press or blot the water out by wrapping it in towels: NEVER WRING THE BLANKET.

Granted, the best most of us can hope for is a vintage HBC blacket at a used store or flea market rather than a high priced one made today, rare is the HBC blanket that is actually from the fur trader era.

2012年3月19日 · They are about the same weight as the Italian surplus, but the wool in the HBC/Whitney is a finer wool, so they are much softer and have more loft. When folded the same way, the HBC/Whitney is a good 1/3 again as thick as the Italian surplus and twice the thickness of a US surplus. As for will ONE of them keep you warm to 32F, it depends.

Many are still around today but worn thin, remember these things can last forever. The wool blends were better and the blankets hand finished to create that furry nap.
