2015年1月30日 · If so, they should pass the shooting test. I load some 9mm's with a cast boolit that won't even come close to passing the gauge test, but function fine in 3 9mm barrels. The final test for me is whether or not they drop into the barrel/chamber of the specific gun/s, regardless of the gauge reading. Use the gun's barrel as the gauge.

After investigating the Ruger Secure Action Fire Control System, it's now my belief that the gun is safe to carry with a round in the chamber and that warning, like many other, is a CYA for Ruger recommended by their liability lawyers.

2010年11月11日 · Revolver chamber brushes are generally a bit bigger in diameter #1, and #2 the ones I use will be stainless steel bristles in lieu of brass bristles. #3 the bristles are wound on the brush differently than a chamber brush. I shoot lead bullets in 38 SPL cases out of a few of my 357s,and in doing so I will get a lead ring build up in the chambers.

2024年3月4日 · just got a ruger AR 308. After shooting 25-30 rounds I ejected the clip, put on the safety and proceeded to rack the live round out of the chamber. But it was locked up and wouldn’t pull back to eject the chambered round so I had to fire it off to clear the chamber. Is this something a gun smith...

But the gun always feeds and fires, is practically microscopic, and can be concealed anywhere - even in a shirt pocket. It has THREE mechanical safeties. A traditional thumb safety, a grip safety, and a mag disconnect. It's a jewel of a gun.

2020年5月6日 · My personal policy is to never dry fire any gun, regardless of what the manual says. But at a minimum, I think it's prudent for any rimfire owner to measure headspace and firing pin protrusion. Headspace should be 0.010"-0.020" larger than the protrusion. Less than 0.010" means you have a very real danger of chamber damage on a dry fire.

2012年11月26日 · As a result .22 firearms with tighter than normal SAAMI-spec chambers may end up generating too high a pressure and/or have feeding/extraction issues. In a normal chamber they are just fine and really don't generate enough extra pressure to hurt the lifespan of a .22 as over-engineered as the 10/22 is.

2024年11月1日 · There's a slight bulge at the base of the cartridges that isn't letting them fully chamber. The Virginian Dragoon IIRC has recessed chambers. They were excellent revolvers made to tight specs. Possibly the bullets have made a bulge at the case mouth, prevention full chambering. Check fit of the loaded ammo in the cylinder well it's out of the gun.
