Felonius Gru Sr., or simply Gru, is the main protagonist of Despicable Me Franchise, and is the son of Marlena Gru and the late Robert Gru. He is a former supervillain turned AVL agent and is the husband of AVL agent Lucy Wilde.

Gru Jr. shares some genetic traits from both Gru and Lucy, such as his pointy nose, his blue eyes, and his red hair. He resembles Theodore, the titular main protagonist of the Boss Baby franchise (even switching emotion the same way Theodore does). He also resembles Jack-Jack from Disney/Pixar's Incredibles films.
