Of all the Gibson pups I have tried, for me the Tim Shaw era pups are by far the best for what I do. Jan 6, 2010 · As I recall, Gibson covered these under warranty as the wood was improperly dried. Your particular problem appears on the seam between differing wood species that also have differing dimensions - the resulting expansion and contraction differences can result in cracks along the seams.

Oct 27, 2009 · I looked up my Gibson Les Paul Epiphone number 198050195 but it wasn't recognized. The number is on the headstock and is ink stamped on. Aparently it is an Epiphone limited edition, it has the stamp on the back of the headstock, the one with the Euro symbol E. Thanks for having me here. Best regards. Lew

May 22, 2010 · Simply checking a serial number with Gibson yields just about the same result, becuase real numbers are showing up on fakes. Gibson needs photos and the serial# for a proper ID.
