This is a very rare size 2 rubberized cloth GM-15 gas mask. Gummimaske 15 was initially produced in 1915. It was the prototype design of a gas mask system that allowed a soldier to fight an breathe whilst located in clouds of noxious and lethal chemicals.

I want to start grabbing WW1 masks at some point. I'm fine with the only one I have, a GP5 (yes, with a new filter that doesn't have asbestos), I'm planning on using it soon.

The masks date from the Summer of 1915 - mid/late 1916 with the earliest shown being the Atemschutzer (top left with the anti-gas goggles) which was issued from around June to October 1915.
