Most modules will draw under half an amp of current at 12v with very few exceptions (like E86 Duramax ECMs and T43 TCMs). Most tuning tools draw close to 0.1 amps of current. If you're flashing a CAN TCM, BCM, etc you generally either need a ECM on the bench with it or need to add CAN termination.
