I can't speak for the UK as of the past 7 years, but in the US both ew and yuck are used. Ew more as a quick thoughtless reaction to something gross, and yuck more as an intentional reaction. Ugh is used as an expression of exasperation or annoyance. Ugh, I can't enter this as an answer since I cannot address usage in the UK. –
