"Équinoxe Part 1", and "Équinoxe Part 2" were used in the Mexican telenovela "Los Ricos También Lloran" starring Verónica Castro, and Rogelio Guerra. "Équinoxe Part 1", "Équinoxe Part 3" and "Équinoxe Part 4" were used in Cosmos: A Personal Voyage by Carl Sagan, however they were not included on the series' soundtrack albums. [34]

The album opens with "Équinoxe Part 1." The gentle waves of sound build a sense of anticipation, drawing me into Jarre's meticulously crafted auditory universe. It’s a perfect start that hints at the journey ahead.

Performed entirely on synthesizers, EQUINOXE consists of a single piece divided up into eight movements. Clearly influenced by the more melodic side of mid-period Tangerine Dream and Vangelis, Jarre filled this album with gauzy, atmospheric synth textures marked by an inviting, impressionistic feel.
