Eisenacher Motorenwerk (EMW) was an East German manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles based in Eisenach. EMW also entered Formula One as a constructor in 1953, but participated in only one race, the 1953 German Grand Prix .

2017年10月20日 · Initially EMW continued to use the blue & white BMW emblem, with EMW the ID plate on the frame. Before long the logo was changed; the blue areas became red and the letters "BMW" were changed to "Eisenacher Motoren Werk". Production of the R71 (EMW M72) was discontinued but the EMW R35 remained in production for ten years, with minor changes.

由于不能再继续使用宝马蓝天白云车标，所以这家老牌车企重新了修改了车标并命名为EMW（ Eisenacher Motorenwerk）把蓝天白云改为“红天白云”也比较符合当时社会主义红色的象征。

In 1952, after a legal dispute with BMW in West Germany, the Eisenach plant stopped using the BMW brand. As a result, they adopted the name EMW. The logo was similar to BMW's, but with a red and white color scheme instead of blue and white.

In 1952, the factory was officially renamed Eisenacher Motorenwerk (EMW). The logo was changed from BMW's blue and white to red and white, reflecting the new political realities. EMW became known for its motorcycles, especially the R 35 model, which was a continuation of the pre-war BMW R 35.
