I have seen first hand what it has done to a large herd over the last 5 maybe 6 years in SW Washington. I sure hope the both Wa and Or make it a top list priority to get a handle on the hoof roof. To the east where there were wolves the incidence rate for elk hoof rot was quite low, the disease was still present with few cases. All the elk hoof rot in California was in wolf-less country.
