Earby is a small, friendly town on the Lancashire and Yorkshire border. The town was mentioned in the Doomsday Book as "Eurebi" in the manor of Thornton. The old village lies away from the main road, close to the stream which powered a 12th century mill, hence the name Mill Brow.
