2007年1月11日 · This vehicle was originally a new BMW 540i that was modified by a specialist German tuner, Martin Veyhle Racing (MVR), in Stuttgart. The original V8 engine was replaced by BMW's V12 engine modified to 6.1 litres. It resulted in 438 BHP at 5,400 RPM and 620 Nm of torque at 4,300 RPM.

2011年6月7日 · Like any conversion, with enough money almost anything can be achieved. The tricks in this case would be getting the old V12 engine and it's ECU's and electronics/electrics to 'talk' to the later E39 bits of the same.

2006年8月30日 · The M73 V12 Engine (5.4l) is an option on the 7 series (750il in the US and 750i /750il in Europe) so there is a chance that this engine (from an E38) might just be a drop-in replacement for the V8 in the E39 5-Series.

Je mehr Zeit jedoch ins Land geht und je mehr ich mir darüber Gedanken mache, desto öfter frage ich mich: "Warum eigentlich nicht?".

2008年1月22日 · I have read something about the mvr e39 which has a 6,1L v12 in it. So it's possible to install a m73 (since the mvr is based on it). The only thing that bugs me is that i don't know if it would be just a 'simple' swap of the engine, motor management etc...
