Duddo is a village and civil parish in Northumberland, about 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Duddo Five Stones (grid reference NT930437) is a stone circle north of Duddo in North Northumberland, approximately 4 miles (6 km) South of the Scottish Border. The stones were known as the Four Stones until 1903, when the fifth stone was re-erected to improve the skyline.

The awesome, and little known, Duddo 5 Stones, erected about 4,000 years ago and accessed now via a 'permissive path' cut through the local farmer's wheat field. The Duddo Stones make an impressive silhouette as they stand against the sunset on their little mound in north Northumberland. The views from the stones down to the cheviots and Yeavering Bell are breathtaking. The striking shape of the Scottish Eildon Hills can be seen from here too.

One of my favourite places in the Fabulous North are the Duddo Stones otherwise known as the Duddo Five Stones. Located in Duddo (obviously) they were originally four stones, with a fifth laying flat on the ground. This was erected in 1903 to improve the skyline.

Duddo Five Stones, also known as the ‘Stone Circle’, is an intriguing site of large, weathered stones, around 4,000 years old. As they stand, the circle is incomplete; there was once seven stones in total and a ‘burial pit’ in the centre, but these no longer stand on the site.
