Repainted, regeared and Renumbered Passenger CNW 411 1971 (2nd unit to use this number). Sold to RTA (now Metra) 1977. Renumbered and repainted to METX 305.

Chicago & North Western Railway F7 401 in Chicago, Illinois on August 7, 1983, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This train was a steam fan trip powered by N&W 4-8-4 number 611. There may have been some concern about the 4-8-4's ability to negatiate the pictured curve.

The 1951 ICC accident report is #3413. A photo of the wrecked F7A 4084C first shows an underframe break behind the cab.

These slies are about 40 to 50 years old and for most of them the color is really poor. So I do try to fix the colors as best I can. I'd sure like to hear other's comments. I certainly want to make the colors as true as possible.

CNW 4088A with Illinois Zephyr in 1973 : Description: One of the stranger consists in the few years after Amtrak took over was the Illinois Zephyr eastbound at Hinsdale, IL, a Chicago suburb on the BN race track between Chicago and Aurora, IL, on Aug. 22, 1973. The two coaches are CNW intercity bilevel cars pulled by a CNW passenger F unit 4088A.
