2011年7月12日 · So I am guessing the water being churned up causes aeration, and precipitates the iron. Small water lines also cause high velocity and may be doing the same thing. I wonder if say 2†pipe might slow the velocity enough to keep the iron from clogging the pipe? At the very least 2†pipe would take much longer to plug up. Might be worth a try.

2020年9月12日 · The pipe should be smooth and clean of any corrosion or paint. Depending on who installed the original valve, if it was overtightened, it might have compressed the pipe. To get that sleeve off, you would likely need a puller. But, generally, it doesn't need to be that tight to seal and hold the valve in place.

Each water outlet should be flushed, but likely only your cold water lines would be affected since all the water going to the hot lines would have settled the debris in the water heater.

Water flows down the sink, backs up very shortly, rises UP 24 inches into the vent stack, and only releases pressure when the cleanout plug is removed.
