2008年10月24日 · Enamel primer can sometimes take a long time to dry, especially in colder conditions and often does remain 'tacky' for a lengthy period.If you want a quicker drying primer then I suggest the Tamiya Surface primer available in aerosol form.It lays on very smoothly and dries quickly being a lacquer based paint.But with the enamel I would just leave it to dry for some more time and keep checking ...

2001年12月6日 · Give the body three coats of primer, the first one being light, and then leave to harden for 24 hours. Check your filing was done well and that no finishing needs doing. If so, have another go to remove any imperfections and add primer to that area 24 hours later. Primer MUST harden for 24 hours to avoid shrinkage.

2004年4月9日 · hey ozzy. well i had the problem with grey over white, just wont cover. i would go to fred meyer or somewere and buy duplicolor white primer, and before you paint, wet sand with some 1000 grit that will make the white primer smooth and let the gloss white stick. but try some duplicolor white primer

Though I'm in the US, and therefore never used Halfords paint or primer, I use Rustoleum primers all the time; all these primers are made to be possibly used on a real car, and most cars are painted with a lacquer that is chemically hotter than Tamiya sprays.

2010年10月9日 · I would not spray it on bare plastic. I would use a good light gray or white automotive primer like Plastikote T-235 White sandable primer. Also it is not glossy as it is made to spray inside of a clear body. It's not flat but it will need a clear coat. It's a hassle but is the only accurate paint for that car.

2011年11月6日 · A question, but first a preface. I understand the smoother the coat below something, the better the coat above it comes out. Is it possible to sand the primer coat (tamiya primer, or duplicolor grey auto primer) TOO much? i.e., sanding to a very smooth surface - say, 3200 grit sandpaper - can this negatively affect paint topcoats adhesion?

2002年6月11日 · The least amount of primer will do the job and do the job well. The problem with spraying on "thick wet coats" is you lose all of the detail. Door lines get buried, window trim gets buried, emblems, etc. and you run the chance of what JE123 has experienced.
