Looks like CSX removed a long segment of double track on the CC Subdivision in July (there is a video online called "CSX Rail Removal on the CC Subdivision - Visalia to Spring Lake"). All of the #2 track was removed from Spring Lake south to Visalia. Surprised that CSX did not retain

CSX has completed trackwork (including tie, rail, and ballast replacement and surfacing) and signal work on the line between Lincoln, ME (WAT 16.0) and Enfield, ME (WAT 28.0), allowing for increasing the maximum speed limit to 40 mph. CSX has replaced approximately 9,700 ties and 12 track miles of rail over this segment.

In 2015/2016 CSX drastically reduced operations at Erwin, closed the car shop and engine facilities when the north end of the Clinchfield was mothballed. That lasted about 8-12 months before they reopened the line to through traffic. The yard itself is full of storage cars these days.

Rice Yard is CSX busiest and I believe is possibly the largest in terms of total acreage and track miles. According to the most recent figures, Rice Yard averages 1,776 cars a day over the hump. The following are the scheduled "Q" trains and locals through Waycross. Not all the trains, especially the intermodals and autoracks, run on a daily basis.
