2021年4月11日 · The cs-490 is a discontinued product now - I could only find it new and available with a 16” bar for $379 at acme. ( I leave the used saw market for those who can diagnose problems quickly). That is the same price as cs-4910 with 16” bar. The price of the cs-501p is currently $500-520. Does the 501 really have over $100 in upgrades re 4910?

2015年7月3日 · This is an unscientific comparison with a Husqvarna 346XP and an Echo CS-490 Chainsaw. The 346XP did not have a new chain, but using a recently sharpened full chisel chain. The Echo CS-490 was using an almost new safety chain. The 346XP was maybe a half second faster than the CS-490, but quite close in cut time.

2012年7月16日 · I'm debating between 16" or 18", but leaning towards going 16". I started bar shopping though and can't hardly find any bars listed for that model. I found one a post that referenced a K216 mount, but the availability of bars seemed really limited and the ones I found with K216 in the number didn't actually list the CS 490 as a supported model.

2020年12月30日 · YIKES, the CS-490 is a little "weak" with a 20" .325" set-up. Even muffler modded, correctly tuned and well broken in they are far better suited to a 16" or maybe an 18" bar, but lackluster power and cutting performance at 20".....IMHO. Your basic issue is probably the incompatibility between .325" and 3/8" not moving out to .063" gauge.

2017年3月25日 · The 490 seems to rev higher. I use the 590 for my heavy cutting and felling, the 490 is for smaller bucking and limbing mostly, but I often turn to the 490 to keep cutting a little longer when the 590 runs out of gas or needs to be sharpened. The 490 and 590 seem to rev about as fast, the 590 just has more guts when you stick it into the big wood.

2018年10月11日 · The Echo CS490 is built way better than either of those Stihl saw, has closed port cylinder which has more power per cc. Get the 490, put a .325 nk bar and open up the muff a little , tune properly and youll be set for years with a light easy starting reliable saw.

2018年12月13日 · It all depends on the price.Here in Greece the 501SX is like 580$,really expensive.I bought a NIB cs 490 from ebay for 350$(230$ for the saw,50$ shipping and 70$ for customs) which i think it was like i stole it.IMO the cs 490 is the best option,mod the muffler and retune it,it will be a very stronge and reliable saw.It is not like the 590 vs the 620.
