See there's your problem. It's called Monty Haul DMing and it robs the game of any challenge or sense of accomplishment. You seem to be aware of it so just make a conscious effort to keep rewards consistent with the bounded accuracy of 5e. 14th level is barely Tier 3 so chances are they MIGHT have 1 very rare item at best.

Regarding Shrieking Screams, I don't think it would make much sense for a demon or yugoloth to be horrified at the screams of a severed angel's head.
