2020年12月7日 · Balud is a 4th class municipality of Masbate Province, Philippines. Go here to see the elected municipal officials of Balud. The town of Balud became an independent municipality from Milagros on August 19, 1949 by virtue of Executive Order No. 242 issued by President Elpidio Quirino.

About a century before, Balud was virtually a thick and virgin forest, particularly the coast lines where early settlers from the nearby Panay settled. The Poblacion site then, was teeming with forest that wild doves called by the first settlers of the place as “Balud” were abundant.
