It will soak up a LOT of either acid or alkali before things swing too far from neutral; but is so mild that it won't swing things much itself. In fact, you can buy it in bulk from feed stores under names such as "digestive buffer" or variants on that theme.

Dr. Bristol's recipe calls for 2 TEASPOONS, not TABLESPOONS of baking soda, and 1 TEASPOON, not 1 TABLESPOON of lite salt. amd it's 14 oz of beef consomme.

2006年5月23日 · By the way, the rough finish on the bottom of the shower can be cleaned much easier by putting quite a bit of baking soda or Bon Ami on it, mix it with a little water and, with a brush, scrub, scrub, scrub... wrinse, scrub again and repeat until the nasties are gone. Best of luck on this one. It's going to be, at the least, a mild pain.

I use it with my lamp chimneys and it does a pretty good job of getting rid of the kerosene smell they can get when they are so old (some of mine are 100-130 years old, so that's a lot of fuel burned over the years!).

2009年6月26日 · Baking soda helps too. I do a vinegar rinse in my Downy ball. I do use bluing and it does great on removing the dingies (or rather covering the yellowish look) in whites and on blues. I do use it on my other clothes as well. If you follow the directions like you would for whites you should be fine.
