2022年11月9日 · I am considering byuing a F1x BMW and wonder how reliable the N57 engine is. I looked at a couple of the 525D with the N57 which are the earlier models of the F1x. Heard alot about the timing chain on the N47 and how the N57 shares the same timing chain parts. Anyone with experience around this?

2023年8月7日 · I heard from quite a few people that the 3.0 N57 has a lot of issues in terms of reliability, however google searches lead to people saying the N57 is better than the 3.0 M57. The M57 in my opinion is one of the best engines BMW has ever made being both very good performing and very reliable. So is the N57 better than the M57 ?

2023年11月5日 · IMHO, BMW makes some of the greatest diesel engines in the world, be it 4 or 6 cylinder. I had the high performance variant of the N57 in my F15 X5 M50d. What an absolute gem of an engine. Amazing performance with reliability and fuel economy to boot. The N57 does have some timing chain issues, though most NXX engines have this issue.
