If someone does the math and notices their overland travel is slower than expected, I’d say that math is for paved roads in the south instead of the blizzardy north with snowed in paths.

Considering that the players spend most of their time fighting actual ghosts, talking animals, and defeating gods, I'd say Chocobos fit the setting better than sled-dogs.

2020年11月12日 · Axe beaks are faster in short bursts, but not over long distances. Sled dogs are actually one of the only creatures that have a separate, faster hourly travel pace. This is presumably their main advantage over axe beaks (or would be, if not for the rest rule, which I recommend you modify or ignore).
