G4 and The 2017 Movies' art styles are tied for my favorite art style imo, While G5 is my least favorite art style imo because it looks WAY too much like live action for it to come off as My Little Pony.

They have different mane styles (unlike some older generations), and their bodies are less out-of-proportion than some of the newer generations.

I definitely prefer a 2D art style (ala G4/MLP:FiM), largely because they don't look so much like a plastic blob. Plus some elements like hair and facial expressions can have more variety with less labor on the part of the artist. FWIW I really dislike some aspects of the current 2D look, like the stupid bean mouths.
