Ang Duong [a] (Khmer: អង្គឌួង [ʔɑŋ ɗuəŋ]; 12 June 1796 – 18 October 1860) was the King of Cambodia from 1848 to his death in 1860. Formally invested in 1848, [ b ] his rule benefited a kingdom that had suffered from several centuries of royal dissent and decline.

King Ang Duong, who ruled Cambodia from 1841 to 1860, is considered a central figure in the kingdom's history. His reign marked a significant period of national renaissance, economic initiative and cultural preservation, despite the obstacles posed by neighbouring powers and internal conflicts.

Cambodian Kilng Ang Duong had come to the throne in April 1848 at the behest of Thailand and Vietnam which dominated much of his territory. Over his twelve years he sought to assert some kind of independence from his neighbors and had contacted Napoleon III to suggest a French protectorate over his realm to help achieve this.
