Aminosteroid - Wikipedia
Aminosteroids are a group of steroids with a similar structure based on an amino-substituted steroid nucleus. [1] [2] They are neuromuscular blocking agents, acting as competitive antagonists of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR), and block the signaling of acetylcholine in the nervous system.

^ Ted Lin; Tim Smith; Colin Pinnock. 2004年2月1日 · Less potent non-depolarizing NMBDs have a more rapid onset of action, comparable with succinylcholine. Aminosteroid NMBDs depend on organ function for metabolism and excretion. They can have active metabolites. Benzylisoquinolinium compounds undergo organ-independent degradation but tend to release histamine.
Aminosteroids for acute traumatic brain injury - PMC
Chemicals called aminosteroids have been shown to help stop cell membrane damage and cell death in animals. The review author searched the medical literature to find out if aminosteroids help people with traumatic brain injury when given within seven days of the injury.

The 21-aminosteroids (lazaroids) (Fig. 3) is a family of compounds that inhibit lipid membrane peroxidation. This goal is achieved by vitamin E-like scavenging of lipid peroxyl radicals. The 21-aminosteroids blunt the release of arachidonic acid from membranes of cultured cells in response to iron-induced lipid peroxidation.

Acute central nervous system (CNS) injury, eg, ischemia, trauma, results in the almost immediate death of neurons. Surrounding tissue is at risk for further cell death. This circumjacent tissue has been labeled tissue-at-risk or the ischemic penumbra.
Aminosteroids – Knowledge and References – Taylor & Francis
Aminosteroids are a group of nonglucocorticoid steroids that possess antioxidant activity by inhibiting lipid peroxidation, independent of steroid receptor pharmacology. Some clinically relevant aminosteroids include pancuronium, vecuronium, and rocuronium.

2001年1月1日 · The realization that the efficacy of methylprednisolone in reducing secondary injury was separate from its hormonal activity stimulated the development of a group of steroid analogues, the lazaroids (21-aminosteroids), that specifically inhibited lipid peroxidation without glucocorticoid or mineralocorticoid activity, thereby avoiding the ...
