2011年12月26日 · The alarm box receives input from the oil temp sensor and operates the oil temp light. I'm not positive that it can keep the ATV from firing, but I think it can. I've never had one go bad and keep the ATV from starting, but one of my buddies said he had one go bad and it kept his from starting. I would test the pulse generator, too.

2020年7月17日 · try reviving it by heating/drying the alarm box in an oven, connector side up. No more than 200F for 3 hours. Let cool completely before you reinstall. If it works you know you’ve isolated to the box. This technique may last a few months but i doubt a year.

2012年6月6日 · Welcome to the forums. X2, on that model, the bigger box is the CDI and the smaller box is the alarm unit. Starting with the 1998 model year, those two boxes are incorporated as one unit. And like Manny said, it's a DC-CDI system.

2010年9月18日 · Maybe the CDI box and the alarm unit box are both bad? Also, should I have any voltage to the coil, if the CDI is bad? I have tried testing for 12v at the coil and I get zero, but of course the coil is on the load side of the CDI, so if the CDI is bad, maybe the 12v cant get past the cdi to the coil?

2020年7月11日 · I do have power at the accessory plug. The fuses are fine and there is no chewed wires. I think there may be a bad oil temp sensor, causing the alarm box unit to cut power to the cdi box. When I short the solenoid it turns over so there is power there.
