The Alangan language is a language spoken by Mangyans in the province of Mindoro in the Philippines. Alangan is spoken by 2,150 people in the following municipalities of north-central Mindoro ( Ethnologue ).

2023年8月13日 · Nestled within the provinces of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, a unique group of Indigenous Peoples thrives—the Alangan Mangyan. Their abode rests predominantly at the base of the majestic Mt. Halcon, a setting that adds to the mystique of their existence.

Alangan have only three basic color terms, “black, white, and red,” these terms, including their derivatives, are fully capable of describing accurately their natural environment.

The Alangan live in the mountainous interior of Mindoro Island. They live in settlements of five to twelve single-family houses, situated on slopes near mountain streams and named after the oldest resident. They are Mangyans, but do not use the Indic script.
