2021年3月4日 · The AIM-9G has a wider gimbal limit before launch (the lock circle is massive), and has no launch G limitation (you can only launch the AIM-9D when pulling less than 4 G).

2021年3月25日 · To me the Aim 9G is close to the Aim 9J in terms of performance. The J gets 20g. The G gets 16G. Both go mach 2.5. The difference is the seeker cone. J has a 10 degree seeker cone, while the G has a 40 degree seeker cone. This makes the G feel like it has much more than the 16g of pull because you can lead the target more.

AIM-9B/GAR-8 (1956): Very early model, can't be launched at high-G, almost always spoofed by flares, and maneuvering is crap. Basically only useful against bombers. Very rear-aspect only. 2022年1月13日 · Aim 9G is arguably the best missile because of the huge cage circle for off bore shots and the long range. The explosive mass is less but that doesnt really matter, a hit will destroy a jet 99% of the time.
