2023年12月21日 · Abulug is one of the towns first founded in the province of Cagayan. Long before Nueva Segovia (now Lal-lo) was founded, Legaspi's grandson, Juan Salcedo, visited the mouth of the Abulug River in 1572 and contacted the chief of the place. Abulug, formerly called "Tulug," was made a settlement by the Dominican Fathers in 1596.
