Steam Link hadn't been seriously updated in years and suddenly got a ton of updates. This was also part of a push for steamlink for VR, which is awesome. I've used it a couple times. But yeah, steamlink essentially is taking over amd link and services like nvidia game stream which also closed down last year around a similar time the updates began.
