Even if you do not configure your cameras to save any files to the Alerts folder (hi-res or AI makeup JPGs, alert MP4s, or DAT files), Blue Iris still saves temp JPG files (named like temp_{camname}.jpg) to the folder, so that they can be used by actions in the 'On alerts' action set that use the &ALERT_PATH macro (more here).
