It all comes down to imperial vs metric. That might not make sense initially, as the dimensions of A4 paper seem to be arbitrary (210 mm x 297 mm). However, the standard is defined instead at the size A0, which at 841 x 1,189 mm is exactly 1m 2. Paper sizes are then defined as half of the preceding size, by halving along the narrow edge.

2020年8月19日 · As someone else mentioned, while A4 and Letter are different sizes, *some* pattern brands make A4 that work with Letter paper size. As long as you print the pattern at 100%!!! Fitting my papers in envelopes/binders. A3 in 8, A4 in 4, A5 in half and A6 will all fit snugly in the same common C6 envelope. And if I get an A4 binder, I'll fold A3 sheets in half, keep A4 straight and turn A5's sideways, and they will all fit snugly too. Get your Letter sized folder, and all Legal will stick out unless you fold the very ends.
