The Yamaha YZ125 is a motocross racing motorcycle with a two-stroke 124.9 cc (7.62 cu in) displacement single-cylinder engine made by Yamaha since 1974. It is available to the public. For the first two years it was made with dual rear shocks, then changing to a monoshock. [3]

Going as far back as 1996 is safe, as you’ll get a great bike with a six-speed. The 2002, 2003 and 2004 models have a much lighter, better-handling chassis, but are saddled with the five-speed. Stay away from any YZ125 that isn’t blue. In the early ’90s, they were real dogs, and by now they’ve become old dogs.

2007年4月25日 · I liked my 90 and 93 YZ125s best. The funny thing is that they both used ported 1990 cylinders...the 93 rear linkage dragged in deep ruts/whoops..I had some kind of devol or boyesen or something linkage and we ran less rear sag as well. The 90-92 were more comfortable to ride, but felt top heavy and wide compared to the 93 - to me anyway.

2023年10月3日 · It's hard not to feel a bit of nostalgia when checking out the Beast of the East inspired 1990 Yamaha YZ125 done by Steve Matthes at PulpMX. While the majority of builds/project bikes go for broke (sometimes literally) in their quest to have the the most exotic unobtanium, it's nice to see a retro build stick to a stock look.

2025年2月4日 · So i just recently bought this 90s YZ125, only issue is the rear shock was completely shot, rest of the bike is pretty clean. I sent the shock in to get it rebuilt, but the shop i took it to said its not worth rebuilding due to there being scoring and scuffs in the shock tube it self, and the shaft has some tiny rust spots that stick out a bit.
