Jan 22, 2018 · Some data from a friend's 7 SAUM that I'm doing load development for... Barrel is a 25.25" 9 twist Krieger, no-turn neck for necked 300 SAUM cases, throated long for 180 Hybrids. Remington 300 SAUM cases necked down to 7mm, CCI 250 primers, 180 Hybrids loaded .010" off the lands at 3.020 OAL, H1000 powder. Node at 63.25gr, 2900fps on the Labradar.

Feb 20, 2021 · I run a 7 SAUM on a stiller predator LA, 26" benchmark barrel with 175 Berger Elite Hunters, Nosler brass, Fed 215M primers and .002" neck tension. COAL is 2.958" CBTO with my gauges is 2.240" which is .030" off the lands and where I found the best accuracy.

Aug 14, 2020 · N570 is like slower R26 and should be excellent as well as R26 is phenomenal in 7 saum. H1000 is a bit bulky for 180’s at mag length but should Work with the 166 and 175. I wouldn’t bother with mag primers. 210M and cci #200’s have been excellent even at below zero temps and mag primer just hurt the ES.

Sep 13, 2020 · The 180 has it's place with the saum, but you might want to get out your calculator to see where the 180 class takes over the 160 class. Short barrel hunting rifle in a 7 saum, I wouldn't be looking at the 180's. Personal preference for sure, but I think the 162 or 168 is going to shine in that rifle.

Jul 9, 2022 · I've been shooting 7 SAUM with VihtaVouri N560 for about a year now and getting good results from both a short and long action with 180gr Berger Hunting VLDs (ADG brass, 58.4-58.6 grs N560, BR-2 primers).

Dec 27, 2005 · Good 7 mag brass is easy to find and reload, where as 7 SAUM looks to be hard to find and reloading is going to be a more involved/time consuming process if I choose to neck down 300 SAUM brass. I know ultimately it is my decision, but just thought I might get some input to help sway me one way or the other.

Mar 19, 2013 · I was running an X-Caliber 24.5" 7 saum on one of my savages. Liked it really well but have an abundance of large shank target repeaters, so decided to order a new barrel for one of them and let the standard action based build go.

Jan 18, 2010 · Proprerly headstamped ADG brass is available. 7 SS is basically an optimized 7 SAUM for reasonable COAL and sufficient neck length. People seem to like pretty much all of the HH options in 7mm. Since you’re saying elk and below …

Dec 11, 2024 · The custom 7 SAUM I have is stupid accurate especially with Nosler 175 ABLR and Retumbo, loaded to 2.95" or so to fit the Hawkins Hunter magazine. Now that I have found the unknown munitions bm and mag with 3.125" COL I might upgrade, but I do have a SAAMI spec chamber, it might not help.
