The round initally developed by an Army unit for military use has be widely adopted by hunters. The 6.8 SPC could be described as being between a 556 and a 308, with a lot more power than the 556 and a lot less felt recoil than the 308.

2007年1月6日 · I am trying to gather up the components to start reloading for my 6.8SC II a AR. it will be used as a hog hunting rifle. I have used factory Hornady 110 VMAX successfully for the past couple years. The local shop has Nosler 130 grain hunting ballistic tips in stock. Has anyone loaded a 130 grain bullet in a 6.8 SPC II or is it too heavy?

2011年3月26日 · If you really have to have a 6.8 SPC bolt gun, to do it right, you need to start off with a Remington 700 that was originally chambered from Remington in 6.8 SPC and then have your work done to it. I learned all this via another member here as I'm working through a 338 Spectre build. The 338 Spectre uses a 6.8 SPC bolt face.

Factory Remington loads in a SAAMI chamber typically peak around 2550FPS with a 110gr bullet but with a barrel with the new chamber and bore configuration you can get 3000fps out of your loads with the same amount of chamber pressure.
