4 ohm guys, recommend some receivers - AVS Forum
2016年5月11日 · An AVR rated for 4 ohms will probably die faced with a pair of speakers rated nominally 4 ohms but dipping to 1 ohm at 50 Hz with a highly capacitive phase angle, sensitivity of 80 dB/W/m, sitting in a large room fifteen or twenty feet away from the listener, no sub, and asked to reach 120 dB peaks.
Change reciever setting from stock 8 ohms to 4 ohms?
2022年4月7日 · Setting it to 4 ohms lowers the voltage rails on the power amp and thus lowers the power output of the amp. It may only output 75-90 watts into 4 ohms instead of 8 ohms. Where if it was set to 8 ohms it would try to peak out at 125-135 watts or higher into 4 ohms and the power transformer just can't handle that much power in 2 channel drive.
4 ohm vs 8 ohm speakers - Audioholics Home Theater Forums
2008年1月9日 · Now the voltage from ohms law is the current X the resistance which is 5 amps X 8 ohms which is 40 volts Now lets take the four ohm load. The square of the current is 200 watts/4 ohms. Which is 50, the square root gives a current of 7.071067 amps Now the voltage from ohms law is 7.071067 amps X 4 ohms which is 28.284 volts.
Denon AVR Performance into 4 ohm - AVS Forum
2017年3月29日 · 1.) Can anyone make a guess as to how power it will output into 4 ohm speakers? 2.) Is this safe? 3.) Looks like the THD goes up with lower impedance. Will I be happy with the THD at 4 ohm? 4.) What on earth is a 1 channel drive, and holy jesus 10% THD looks bad. Much appreciated, Matt
Why aren't some (a lot?) amps/AVRs rated for 4-ohms...? - AVS …
2023年9月23日 · Car audio is 4 and 2 ohms because power - the max power is limited by the voltage - at 4 ohms you can get (12*12)/4 or around 36 watts nominal. Using 2 ohms gets you 72 watts tops. For car audio in a small environment that ought to be plenty.
Is it possible to wire two 4-ohm DVC subs into a 2 ohm load?
2013年4月7日 · Either that or get some more powerful subs. I ran into this with my 5K watt planet audio amp. At 1 ohm it produces 3700 watts rms. Way too much for my 2 L7 12s, which can handle a lot of heat, but not that much. That’s a good way to fry your subs. Wiring 1 voice coil on each sub parallel will get you to 2 ohms.
How to get 4 Ohms from Amp (for Buttkicker) - AVS Forum
2017年3月23日 · My Buttkicker mini-LFE needs 4 Ohms impedance. My Dayton Audio APA150 can do either 4 Ohms or 8 Ohms. "delivers 75 watts per channel in its full-range stereo configuration, or 150 watts into 8 ohms when in bridge-mono mode.
Best mid range receiver for 4 ohm towers? - Audioholics Home …
2024年3月21日 · It could. But it mostly means that these $1500-$3000 AVR's can output a lot of watts into 4-ohms. For example, the Yamaha RX-A3080 could output almost 300 Watts x 2Ch driven into 4 ohms. The Yamaha Z11 could output almost 400 Watts x 2Ch driven into 4 ohms!
4 ohm or 8 ohm. Whats better? - AVS Forum
2003年6月10日 · A 4 Ohm speaker presents a bigger load to an amplifier (less resistance) and therefore an amplifier that can dip down will give you more watts running a 4 Ohm speaker than an 8 Ohm. However, if your equipment isn't stable down to 4 Ohms, you could burn out the amp or cause undue distortion.
8 ohm vs 4 ohm - AVS Forum
2022年11月20日 · You've got a 12 channel amp that's rated for 75 watts at 4 ohms on each channel and 50 watts @ 8 ohms. I'd just run each shaker on its own channel. You are correct that resistance is additive when wiring in series so two 4 ohm shakers wired in series is 8 ohms. You can certainly pair them but you'd be right at the power limit of each channel of ...
