The 302d Fighter Squadron is part of the Air Force Reserve Command's 477th Fighter Group at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. It operates the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor conducting an air superiority mission.

The 302d Fighter Squadron was constituted on July 4, 1942, activated on Oct. 13 of that same year at Tuskegee Army Air Field, Ala. The 302d FS was assigned to the 332d Fighter Group. In February 1944, the 302d transferred to Italy and its pilots saw combat in Mediterranean and European theaters of operations from Feb. 17, 1944 to Feb. 20, 1945.
